Kanchan
Mani was born on 15th September, 1979 in Madhubani (Bihar). She completed the Annual Intermediate Science Examination in 1998 in Bihar Intermediate Education Council. Kanchan learnt Mithila Painting (passed in 1996), Godna Painting (passed in 2000) under the guidance of Ms. Shweta of Samidha, an organization engaged in production, sale and training of handicrafts.
She has also won Second Prize in Mithila Folk Arts Exhibition-cum-poster competition organized by Samidha in coordination of Lalit Kala Academy, Bihar in 1999.
Recently, Kanchan Mani participated in a painting competition for Female Artists through DRAUPADI Rehabilitation Empowerment Awareness Medi-care TRUST and was supported by Hans Seidel Foundation, Germany in 2005 where one of her painting was awarded.
Presently, she is engaged in teaching Madhubani Painting to students.
