At the
tender age of two, Olivier followed his parents for a 3 years long odyssey on the Mediterranean Sea. From Spain to Greece, and Italy to Tunisia, through Malta, he draws his will to walk around the globe and protect its endangered nature, from the breathtaking landscapes, the heteroclite people and the near marine fauna he encountered during his childhood.
At 20, he left for the high lands of the Mexican Selva to meet the Mayan people and their millennium culture, in order to make a powerful photo reportage on the day to day life of the indigenes Tzoltzils, facing extinction because of the modern way of life and a regardless government. A strike for the survival of their traditions, told through the pictures of the exhibition: México, País de las Mascaras, (Mexico, Land of the Masks - Winter 2006).
At 21, after the great success of his first exhibitions, Olivier arrived in India for a discovery that will last more than a year. He walked on the roads of this huge territory to meet its ever happy, smiling and welcoming inhabitants. He lost himself in the Great Himalayan Range to capture the most beautiful landscapes of Ladakh, and its vibrating Buddhist ceremonies. He went deep in the central jungle for a face to face meeting with the splendid Royal Bengal Tiger and invited himself for the Ganges cults from Haridwar to Varanasi, without forgetting the marvellous jewels of Rajasthan.
Today, as expert in nature and
culture photography for L.E.I, Olivier shares with you his visions, his know-how and his great knowledge of a magic country, beyond time, and still most photogenic.
